On July 18, the Rexall Foundation made a $35,000 donation to the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) Foundation during the Rexall Customer Appreciation Event in Goderich. The donation will go towards purchasing a transport isolette, a piece of much-needed equipment for the hospital’s obstetrics unit.

Myles Murdock, Chair of the AMGH Foundation, wishes to express his sincere gratitude to the Rexall Foundation:

“We have a list of much-needed equipment, and we are so grateful that the Rexall Foundation generously provided funding for the transport isolette, a $35,000 item. It was a very high priority and we are thankful that the Rexall Foundation was there for our community.”

Lori Merner, AMGH manager of OR, ER and dialysis said the transport isolette “is a full-feature incubator that offers temperature, humidity, oxygen concentration and phototherapy in a controlled environment, while providing continuous information essential to assist the medical staff in the care of their tiny patient. It is used in the safe transporting of infants who require a higher level of care. The physicians, staff and the ‘moms and dads’ extend a sincere thank you to Rexall for their investment in the health and wellbeing of our newborns and their families.”

“We are so proud that our donation will play a role in ensuring that the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital’s smallest patients are able to receive the best ossible care, to help them grow and develop, in this formative time of their lives,” said Paul Dale, Rexall Foundation vice-president.

The Rexall Foundation is one of the ways Rexall gives back as a company, and since 2002, the foundation has been helping build strong and vibrant communities by supporting numerous charitable organizations. Whether it’s a
community or children’s hospital or a disease prevention organization, the
Rexall Foundation values the role it plays in helping the delivery of numerous
programs and services in Canada.

“We are so very thankful for the generous support of Rexall through our foundation for the funds to purchase this critical piece of pediatric equipment, especially as AMGH having the only obstetrical service within Huron County, and as we recruit for a second obstetrician to assist in meeting the growing need of babies,” said Karen David, president and CEO of AMGH.
