Maitland Lodge Donates $2,700 To AMGH Foundation

The Alexandra Marine & General Hospital Foundation is very grateful for the generous support of the Maitland Lodge No. 33 A.M. & A.F.  On Nov. 18, members of the lodge presented the foundation with a donation in the amount of $2,700. The donation will go towards the Radiothon Campaign to purchase a new Colonoscope for the AMGH.

“This year our Radiothon goal was set at $45,000 and with only a couple of weeks left in our campaign, this generous contribution brings us much closer to achieving that goal. It feels great to know how much this hospital means to the community and we appreciate the Maitland Lodge’s continued support,” Shannon LaHay, manager of finance and administration for the foundation, said.

“The Lodge and the Hospital have a long history of working together in this community. In fact, we used to host dances in the banquet hall in the 1930’s and 40’s, to raise funds for the hospital. We even contributed to the original hospital at the Britannia and South Street site,” David Yates, Master of Maitland Lodge
No. 33 said.

Donations are still being accepted towards the AMGH Foundation’s Colonoscope campaign. The foundation has raised $38,000 of the $45,000 goal. The  campaign will come to a close at the end of November.
