Qualifications:

  • Regulated Healthcare Professional - Social Worker or similar
  • Masters/Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent in a Regulated Healthcare profession (Social Work, Occupational Therapy)
  • Current registration with an approved College, in the designated profession, in Ontario
  • Demonstrated competence in the application of diagnostic and treatment procedures in a Mental Health setting
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources
  • Code White Certification
  • Individual and Group Counselling, Treatment planning
  • Experience with Eating Disorders preferred or training and resources may be provided
  • Three years’ recent hospital and/ or community experience providing treatment to seriously mentally ill patients

  • Demonstrated competence in counseling, problem solving and mental health assessment skills
  • Demonstrated competence in providing individual and group therapy to mental health patients
  • Demonstrated competence in providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatment plans
  • Sound critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and timely decision making skills
  • Ability to work with patients and families in crisis
  • Ability to provide consultation to physicians, nursing staff and interdisciplinary professionals
  • Ability to act as a liaison to Mental Health Services in Huron County
  • Ability to provide clear, concise documentation and record keeping
  • Ability to perform as a self-directed, motivated, multi-disciplinary team player with a commitment to Best Practices
  • Computer literate, knowledge of Meditech system an asset
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in Mental Health and Addictions
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work shifts as assigned in all Community Mental Health Services locations
