It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital.

The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital has been providing quality patient care services to our region for over 100 years. The history of AMGH dates back to 1905 when the hospital, a house situated on the corner of South and Britannia streets, was opened. In 1924 the hospital relocated to its current site and has undergone numerous renovations and additions over the past eighty years in response to the changing health care needs of the residents we are privileged to serve.   

The operation of the hospital is overseen by a twelve member voluntary Board of Directors. I'm pleased to refer you to the "Report of the Board Chair and   President/Chief Executive Officer to the Annual Meeting June 25, 2007" for a presentation of our current activities, issues and accomplishments. 

Our dedicated staff are committed to excellence in patient and family centred care and to the promotion of wellness and health education, delivered with compassion, respect and dignity. We are proud of our hospital and the services we provide.
