Nutrition and Food Service department provides their service to patients, staff, and visitors.
Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) staff use “Multigen” carts to deliver hot and cold food to the patient area. This specialized cart has an oven on one side and a refrigerated area on the other, so a combination of hot and cold items can be safely transported to the hospital patient areas. Each Multigen has an accompanying support cart with dishes, cutlery, condiments, crackers, serviettes, etc.
NFS staff visit patients immediately prior to the meal service and ask patients about their food preferences of two choices. Trays are assembled immediately outside the patient rooms ensuring that the hot food is hot, the cold food is cold, and the portion sizes suit the patient.
Meal Services to patients are:
Breakfast 7:30-8:15
Lunch 11:30-12:15
Dinner 4:30-5:15
If your Doctor orders a special diet, the Dietitian may visit you to discuss specific requirements. Patients are encouraged to communicate to NFS and their nurse of any dietary requests or strong dislikes. The NFS staff will be pleased to help you with any special requests.
