Materials Management

Stores 2.JPGThe Materiel Management department at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital is responsible for several different functions within the system: purchasing, receiving, distribution, shipping, and inventory control.

The Material Management department  ensures that the proper amount of inventory is available to meet the needs of all of our patients and staff both in the hospital and at the off site clinics. To accomplish this task, the hospital has entered into purchasing agreements that provide excellent pricing and quality product.

The department inventories and stocks the nursing units with medical supplies while providing other departments with supplies submitted by request forms. This includes both storeroom items and special order items.

The hospital ships numerous specimens, that need to be shipped by special service and tracked through the process. The department provides these services as well.
